Last February 1, PROPharm attended a leadership training seminar/ workshop at the National University Social Hall. The event was called Palihan and was organized by the National Union of the Students of the Philippines (NUSP). Palihan is an annual event where current and future student leaders meet not only to learn pertinent national social issues concerning the students, but also to train for the elections and how to be an effective leader.
The event was divided into two parts. The first part consisted of short lectures, among them were Youth and Education Situation given by Raymond Palatino (BAYAN-NCR Chairperson), and the Role of the Youth in Nation Building given by Atom Araullo (ABS-CBN News Correspondent and Program Host). The second part, on the other hand, consisted of breakout sessions. There were six sessions offered: Technical Writing for Student Councils, General Plan of Action (GPOA) and Specific Plan of Action (SPOA) Building, Public Speaking, two Publicity and Propaganda sessions, and Mass Campaign and Planning. Each delegate were allowed to attend two sessions of their choice. I attended Mass Campaign and Planning, and Public Speaking. :)

(ph source: NUSP) Weeeeh! Haha!
Not only did I see Atom Araullo in person (Haha!), but I also learned a lot about the different issues the Filipinos, especially the students, are currently facing. The talks were very informative and inspiring. And the break out sessions were also helpful. :)
After the Palihan 2014 was a get-together with college friends. :)

That's all folks! Have a nice day!
