Feature & Follow #26: 3 Favorite Heroines

Feature and Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. It is where we, book bloggers, can meet new people and gain followers as well!

This week's prompt:
3 favorite heroines, books they're in, and why you love them.

I have a lot of favorite heroines but currently my favorites are:

- Rose Hathaway- Vampire Academy
♥  Brave, loyal, funny, smart, fighter

- Verity- Code Name Verity
Composed/collected, smart, not afraid to admit weakness

- Celaena Sardothien- Throne of Glass
Brave, fighter, loves beautiful dresses, knows her priorities

Of course, they all have flaws but the mentioned characteristics are the reasons why they are my favorites.

Who is/are your favorite heroines?

Currently Reading: Cinder by Marissa Meyer

I'm currently reading the first book in The Lunar Chronicles- Cinder by Marissa Meyer. I've been wanting to read this for a long time because I've heard good reviews about it. So far, I'm quite intrigued. And I want to know how the plot and character development will go about.

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

How about you folks? What is your current read?

Where do you turn for shelter in the worst storms of life?

And He wouldn’t even if He could. God is the only promise maker who is always a promise keeper. And God’s promises will never fail you!
In The Shelter of God’s Promises, gifted Bible teacher and inspiring Women of Faith speaker Sheila Walsh searches Scripture for what God has promised us, what God’s promises mean, and how encounters with Christ are the eternal fulfillment of His unrelenting commitment to us. Through vulnerable storytelling, new insights, and an in-depth Bible study, Sheila offers powerful, heart-filled teaching on ten bedrock promises of God, providing the foundation for daily confidence, joy, hope—and shelter.

Book Haul #11: Birthday Month Edition

Hi folks!

Welcome to another book haul! Now, normally if it's your birthday month you can have as many books as you want. You can have boxes and that's okay! Sadly, not in my case. I'm still on a book buying ban and am really trying to control myself. Haha!

But, I did slip thrice and bought myself two books and requested one book for review. :)

The Many Selves of Katherine North by Emma Geen
Publication Details: June 2nd 2016 by Bloomsbury Publishing Plc (UK & ANZ); Bloomsbury Circus
Genre: General Fiction (Adult), Sci Fi & Fantasy

I got this one through NetGalley.

The ones I bought:

The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas- I bought this for the author's signing event. But I was not able to attend. Haha!
Socrates' Defence by Plato- An impulsive buy. :) I was just browsing in Fully Booked with no intention of buying, but I couldn't pass this one up.

That's all folks for my monthly haul. I'm still trying to lower my TBR pile, so I will really try to control myself. Wish me luck folks!

Happy reading!
