World Book Day 2016: Photo Diary

Hi folks!

April 23 is World Book Day! And we here in the Philippines got to spend it through a book fair!

This one-day event is organized by Instituto Cervantes de Manila, the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, the NCCA, the National Book Development Board (NBDB), Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino, and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, in collaboration with other organizations, publishing houses and bookstores in the Philippines. The event was held in Ayala Triangle, Makati City from 11 AM to 11 PM.

It may be a sweltering afternoon, but nothing can stop us book lovers from hopping booth to booth. :)

Instituto Cervantes booth: They're also selling shirts with Spanish quotes, and books in Spanish. If only I can read and understand the language...

Instituto Cervantes also hosted Escribo el Quijote where visitors can write a few sentences of Don Quixote by hand.

The Book Stop: Aside from book sellers, there's also a pop-up library where one can give and take a book.

They also set-up a stage for performing artists and other programs- Guitarra flamenca, story telling & puppet show, recital de chelo, performance from UP Singing Ambassadors, El consejo de los dioses ni Rizal, balagtasan, etc.

What I wrote: "We will always have books." Because they will never leave us. They are timeless.

There's also free face painting and shirt-printing at the National Book Development Board booth.
And there's a free rose when you buy books!

That's all folks! I hope you'll have a nice day!
