What My Year Was: 2019

Another year has come to an end. And once again, I find myself reflecting what 2019 has brought me. A lot of things surely happened. But like the previous years, 2019 was a mish-mash of things- highs and lows, mountains and valleys.

The first half of my year was full of energy. Memories were piling up. Laughter were being shared. The momentum shifted in the second half of the year. But while the energy dwindled quite a bit, I am still grateful for what this year has been, for what it taught me, for what it made me.

Without further ado, here folks are the highlights of my 2019- things/events that made this year a memorable one.
  • Started an investment
  • Finally started to work-out at home (though I still need to be consistent)
  • First hike at Mt. Pulag
  • Started a Bible journal
  • Watched a musical and a concert
  • Read mostly big books (600 pages and up)
  • Started selling some of my books on Carousell
  • Started using a digital work planner
  • Started listening to audio books
  • First solo joiner experience
  • 2019 travels

As mentioned (and expected), 2019 was not perfect. To be honest, I think most of the time I merely existed, floating day by day, swept by the humdrum of work and chores. But through the passivity is a life raft that kept me sane and strong- my personal Lord and Savior, Jesus. My life raft who continuously guides me in my journey. My life raft to whom I can safely stay. Jesus to whom my future is secured.

Indeed, 2019 was different. Beyond the adventures, beyond the highlights was a larger revelation. Short of breakthrough, but an almost. An inner resolution to be better, to be closer toward the promised future.

And so, with the turn of another year, another decade, here I am welcoming it with a fresh, resolute heart. The future, of course, is uncertain. A lot can happen even in a day. But so what? I will move forward. I will sail on.

2020? Why would I be afraid? I am safe in my life raft.

Happy 2020 folks!
