Hi folks! How are you all doing? It's a tough year, isn't it? And it's only May! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy.
Most of us are in the waiting game. Waiting for this pandemic to end. Hoping and praying that all patients will heal, that there will be no new cases, and most importantly that the vaccines and drugs being developed will be successful. Our lives are at a standstill. Waiting.
I have been in quarantine since March. I had a travel history (Japan) so I need to do self-quarantine, and while doing that the PH government enforced a Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). The ECQ got extended until May 14 (for now). And so, I haven't been outside since March 13 and I have been working from home.
One thing this ECQ is giving me though is time. Not really lots of it because I still have to work but relatively more time than I have before. Time to do what I need to do for my personal well-being. And one aspect of that is my reading life.
I finished my first book in March (I know) and in April I read 7 books. Hence with what is going on in my reading life, I thought of setting again a monthly TBR. It is an ambitious pile since I am a mood reader. But I'll do what I can.
Here are the books I want to read (and hoping to read) this month:
- Fear (Gone #5) by Michael Grant- I am currently at 30% of the book.
- Light (Gone #6) by Michael Grant
- Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng - I have started this book in January or February but I have not finished it yet.
- Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh- I also started this in February, I think, but I have not continued with it too. I had a hard time following the events. lol But I shall see. I will start it again.
- Smoke in the Sun by Renee Ahdieh
- War Storm (Red Queen #4) by Victoria Aveyard- I am quite hesitant to start this one, the last book in the series, because I have a feeling someone will die. lol
It's a bit of a stretch really. After finishing Obsidio last month, I had no idea what to read. It was quite difficult to choose what I think I want to read for this month. But I am really hoping to reduce my physical TBR to half this year. I am not expecting to reach most of my 2020 goals but I hope the reading goals will be reached somehow.
Anyway, that's all folks for a quick update! Let us all pray for hope and healing. Stay healthy, stay strong! We will get through this!
